When in a famiy there is death of a certain person and if that person have had lot of involvement and bondage with the assets,
properties earned and some wishes are unfulfilled at the time of death then such soul goes in to the Pretyoni(प्रेतयोनी). If the shraddha of the deceased from of
the family is not performed by the responsible person then such a soul after death goes to the Pretyoni(प्रेतयोनी). To get rid of this probelm Tripindi Shraddha has
to be performed.
In Garud Puran (गरुड पुराण) Taksharya (गरुड) once asked Lord Vishnu what has to be done for the souls who do not attain the path of salvation? Then Lord Vishnu told
that in such cases Tripindi Shraddha has to be performed.
Tripindi Shraddha has to be performed for above mentioned reasons and also if someone has Pitrudosh and Sarpadosh and a cursed Kundali.
